Halo MK VI Update!

So, since Anime North is just around the corner (not nearly enough time!!!!) I spent the weekend working on a LOT of stuff for this cosplay.
What I have done:
  •  the bicep pieces so they dome in place
  • the neck seal and shoulder seals are done
  • the undersuit is DONE!
  • the thigh pieces now sit in place using straps
  • knife is done
  • mask is done (not sure why, but I wanted to make one)
What I need to do:
  • Seal the rest of the cracks/lines
  • Battle damage (pre-paint stage)
  • Seal the suit with Plasti-dip
  • Paint
  •  Battle damage
  • Finish the right boot (foam)
  • Finish the shins (foam)
  • De-fog my visor (with my SCUBA diving de-fog)

Mask done based on the ones you see online all the time. Painted with fabric paint.

Glove with hand plate and my halo knife.

Armor and undersuit from the knees up.

I have a Spartan in my living room...and she is missing a boot!?

Well, I have finally managed to make BOTH shin pieces this morning. It took forever, and I wanted to strangle myself, however, I didn't have to resize them like I thought. After watching a video by Adam (from the 405th) putting on his armor, I realized that the shins look massively big before he put them on. So I ran and put my uncompleted one on with the thigh pieces since the rigging is done for it and it fits!

So, since I have to run to work I will post pictures and write more later...and yes, I still have to make that boot!

BRC Cards!

THEY ARE IN! And by "they" I mean my BRC business cards! Essentially, I want to use these to give to people I want to exchange contact information with (yay, new friends!), to get pictures of my cosplay and other people's cosplays. It's hard to take pictures in my Spartan armor lol. So I will be asking anyone who doesn't mind to send me pictures of me (if they take any) as well as some of their favorites from Anime North 2015.

I designed the card myself, and did all the artwork. I purchased 500 from Vista Print for about $30. If you look at the bottom of the back (the white side), you will see my Deviant, Facebook (cosplay) and blog addresses. There is also a blank spot for me to write what I cosplayed as, since we all meet so many people at conventions, it can be hard to remember who was what!

Oh, and enjoy the llama!

Halo MK VI Update!

My undersuit came in and I was so excited I had to try it on. It is just a plain black strectchy catsuit that I am adding vinyl detailing onto!

I have done a LOT of detailing with my wood burning tool, and have sealed all the cracks in the arm pieces (I use Dap bathroom seal for those who are interested, you can't sand it, and need to wipe the excess off with a wet piece of paper towel BEFORE it drys).

I have tried making the thighs twice already and had to scrape it. It is the hardest part for me to size apparently....

Here's my progress!

The detailing on the back nearly killed me...

Halo MK VI

So, if you haven't noticed, I have two cosplays on the go. Essentially, when I get tired/bored/upset with one, I switch over to the second one. At the moment, I am working on my Halo MK VI armor done using EVA foam. If you have seen them before, check out 405th.com! They are an amazing dedicated group of guys and gals who are dedicated to various forms of armour, but mostly revolving around the Halo universe.

So, without further hesitation (this is my first time building armour), here is my progress so far!

Khajiit Test

Yup..I’ve decided to go as a Khajiit! Which means I am trying to kill myself to get that fixed…the hood didn’t fit with the ears so I had to add ear slits (not in the game, but hey, I’m pretty sure it would be very uncomfortable/look horrible if ear slits did not exist. That or Khajiit have very bendy ears).
So, I have finished both ears, added earrings, and done a tail.

Also, my cat prosthetic from NorthFur FX came in! They are a Canadian company that specialize in animal prosthetic. This on is the “Wild Cat/Large Cat” foam prosthetic. I also have black and white costume makeup that I ordered from NorthFur FX.

So stoked for Anime North 2015!

Khajiit cosplay makeup draw on test. I wasn’t sure what type of pattern I wanted originally, so I decided to play around with it. I think I like this pattern. What do you guys think? Let me know!
PS. Yea I drew in some fangs…I have those ordered as well :)

Khajiit!

Yea, so I decided that I wanted to be a Khajiit...which means completely revamping my Nightingale cosplay. I need to: - Make ears. - Make a tail. - Figure out how I am going to do the face - Figure out how to do the hood with the ears. Yup. I'm trying to kill myself.
